Are u sold on Mikey as elite?

No he's not elite, but the circumstances of both Top Rank (lets face it Manny cant last forever) and HBO (major talent depletion) will keep him propped up above his actual talent level. An elite offensive fighter would have knocked out Burgos instead of going the distance. HBO tried to cover for it and blame it on Burgos, but the fact is he rarely cut off the ring and when he did there was nothing put together to get a guy ready to go out of there. After 34 fights there's only going to be marginal improvement at this point, so one has to wonder if he will become elite and how.

All I know is this, they better start throwing him in against stiffer competition because he'll lose mental focus inside the ring and one of these "sure wins" will turn into a bad loss. I said that before the fight and sure enough that bar-back from Tijuana got his attention by almost sitting him on his tail early in the fight.

The verdict is still out on Mikey. Beating on the likes of damaged vets Orlando Salido and JuanMa Lopez and barely passable Rocky Martinez and Juan Carlos Burgos does not make him elite. He has to fight and beat the other champions in the division as the Takashis ( Uchiyama and Miura ), Rances Bathelemy and yes, Yuri Gamboa ( why isn't he rated in the Ring pound for pound best at 130 lbs.?) to claim elite status.

I wouldn't call him elite as he hasn't fought any p4p top 10 ranked opponents, however I am more sold on Garcia than I ever was on Broner.

BQ) I think he would beat Gamboa

Not yet. If he beats Gamboa with no robbery then I would say he is elite. Way over hyped right now because of the amount of exposure he's getting from Sally Eckbach on bsnews.

Floyd Mayweather dawg

Yes I am..................Well trained and schooled but needs to step up his offense earlier. Excellent boxer and can punch , just too careful IMO.

He had solid wins and he shown improvements in his last fight and it seems that he has less and less flaws each fight but I still dont think hes reached that elite level.

Yea he knows how to parry punches and avoid shots without wasting energy, but I still dont think he has the tools to be elite cause his defense is not great, which is okay since hes not a defensive fighter (but he is defensive minded, 2 different thing guys) and his offense is one dimensional.

Right now hes fighting the type of fighters that made Broner and Donaire look invincible. Unlike those 2 Garcia jabs and feints regularly so he isnt as reliant as those 2 for his opponents to give him openings and make mistakes so he could counter but still, hes tools are limited to be considered elite.

What u think? can he be one of the best P4P in the near future?

BQ) can he beat the likes of Gamboa who will give him angles and are fundamentally sound?
