Bradley vs Marquez; Battle of the "Shot" Fighters?

One of the reasons this fight isn't considered a "super fight" is because Tim Bradley doesn't have much of a fanbase fighting out of Palm Springs ,California. Juan Manuel Marquez does a good fanbase ,but the main reason this is not a PPV attraction is because of Bradley's fanbase.

The main reason Tim Bradley hasn't looked has been taking more punishment of late is because since 2009 he's been facing elite competition but he still undefeated and still winning so i wouldn't call Bradley a "shot fighter"

I think Bradley has more left in the tank than Marquez because of the age difference and they still have fighters like Kell Brook ,Keith Thurman ,Marcos Maidana and Amir Khan out there.

I think this fight would be a slug fest since Juan Manuel Marquez is an inside fighter and Tim Bradley is always okay when his opponent wants to go toe to toe ,hence his last fight with Ruslan Provodikov.

Both Bradley and Marquez are well conditioned and have solid chins but the difference maker will be Bradleys punch out put and better reach.

Tim Bradley by MD.

lol yeah I agree, this is a really good fight but it's not something I even really think about. Maybe when the fight gets closer I'll be more excited, but at this point when I hear mention of it I'm just kind of indifferent.

You make good points too. On my sportsbook JMM is a -150 favorite to Bradley's +130.

I said this on the only other question about this fight I answered, it's a really close fight but I tend to lean towards Bradley.

Kind of comes down to what you said. Marquez is 40 years old, been through war after war, even against a guy like Katsidis who he really should've walked through.

Bradley has had a couple of tough fights, but he's still young and probably the most conditioned athlete in the sport.

I also believe that Bradley is more well rounded than Marquez, in the sense that he's good at coming forward and being aggressive, along w/ being able to outbox opponents and ifght off his back foot.

Marquez is great at fighting/boxing while moving BUT if he has to be aggressive and stalk someone, he's shown to be not nearly as dangerous or even that good at it. It's not his nature.

That may not come into play here but if Timmy decides to box and move, instead of come forward and grind, it'll be tough for Marquez to be very effective ImO.

I got this fight for Marquez i think hes superior power overwhelms bradley. I think the fight will be similer to marquez vs derrick gainer but a little for competive and exciting.

o i see.if someone who isn't black wins he is on PED's.grow up mate

I can't remember the last time a fight was made between two superstars coming off big wins that in I was so unexcited about

One fighter is a newly crowned welterweight champion with an undefeated record....

The other is a long time Top 5 P4P champion of multiple weight classes, coming off the one of the most devastating knockouts in history over the # 2 P4P media darling

on paper this should be a SuperFight

But:

that newly crowned 147 champ with the undefeated record hasn't looked dominant since 2009, is coming off two back-to-back fights in which he took more punishment than the whole rest of his career combined, and has looked completely vulnerable at 147

and the other guy, the long standing Top P4P guy is 40 now (i think he actually really about 42), has nearly 60 fights, and taken a ton of punishment over the last 5 years, including his last fight in which he suffered a broken nose

how much do these guys have left? especially at a higher weight than what they are used to fighting at... what else is in the winner's future besides Manny Packeow??

what is your predict? this such a tough fight for me to pic. I think Bradley looks ready for the taking right now, and he does not have the power to discourage Juanma....

but Juanma has been a straight up punching bag over the last few years, and unless he on the same PEDs Manny was on, I can't see him going out there at the age of 40, and hanging with a conditioned athlete like Desert Storm
