David Haye set to return to the ring in September?

1) Yes, especially b/c I think if he's making a return then he must be confident he's physically capable of competing.

2) Hard to say. I know Haye is coming off a serious injury and a long layoff BUT he's still Haye. He can't go in and face some bum off the street.

A soft touch is still deserved though, and considering it's Haye a soft touch for him would be someone like Christian Hamer or Francisco Pianeta IMO. I'd say Ruslan Chagaev, who is a bit more dangerous, but he's already scheduled to fight.

3) Most definitely, although of course we have to see how he looks. When you take Wlad Klitschko out of the equation, everything's up in the air.

If Wlad were to retire, I think Haye would be the top guy. Povetkin looked in great shape and like a beast against Charr, so he'd be my runner up at this point.

1) If he feel he can come back successfully ,why not? Only David Haye knows how he feels.

2) A good opponent would be Manuel Charr or Mariuz Wach like already mentioned ,even Oleg Platov ,Alexander Ustinov or Alonzo Butler would be good choices for a comeback.

3) If David Haye is planning to make a comeback ,I am sure he has something left ,he's still fairly young. All it takes is one punch for David Haye and one technical error on the part of Wladimir Klitschko.

So. It's not likely that he got rid of that poor excuse for a trainer, Adam Booth. We'll see the same wild swinging bloated cruiserweight, who never learned how to use a jab. If Haye has any advantages over any other heavyweights, he fails to utilize them because he's not much of a boxer.

.

Haye has convinced himself that he's a power hitter and have forsaken his boxing skills. He reminds me of Shane Mosley, a pretty boy who scored a few knockouts and forgot how to box.

.

Unless he gets rid of Adam Booth, and gets a real trainer, we'll see the same fighter, or worse. It doesn't matter who he fights. He'll never come close to beating Wladimir, not with Booth in his corner.

It's hard to take this guy at his word given his history of making excuses before and after fights. Remember in his last potential fight with Fury he cancelled twice due to a cut and subsequent to that the surgery he needed for his shoulder.

I'm always skeptical of this clown since he's always got another motive in play as we've seen in the past. Don't be surprised if he builds something up and ends up cancelling yet again due to some ridiculous excuse. Also, don't rule out the fact that he may also use this shoulder thing again either before or after a fight.

If he does return, why not fight that other clown Fury, who he was set to fight before his "retirement". The two of them would make a perfect pair in and out of the ring, but maybe after a tuneup fight.

Haye was never a "force to be reckoned with" as you say, he was decent at cruiser but he went after big names and big money at HW but failed to really set himself apart, except for all the media hype he brings along in fighting mostly people past their prime like Valuev and Ruiz or other hype jobs like himself in Chisora or Harrison. When faced with the champion, he fizzles out and fails to perform...

Yes, if he feels right after his operation then he's the best placed to make that call.

Mariusz Wach or Manuel Charr

If he still has his power and speed after his operation then he will be a big threat for the heavyweights out there.

1. He's only 33

2. Glazkov, or Cunningham

3. Yeah, but their is a handful, that will beat him now.

if he isnt hesitant to throw punches and his reflexes are still there, then he should go for it.

i agree with andrew. there are some good tests out there. lets hope he doesn't pick a journeyman.

Ok.. The dogs on the street have it, that David Haye is looking for a suitable opponent to fight in September.. Due to his recent surgery, I would assume it will be a 'testing the waters' fight..

It's two years since Haye last ducked beneath the ropes, he has had major shoulder work done since then...

Three Questions:

1) Should David Haye return to the ring after such an operation?

2) Who would be a suitable (acceptable) opponent for September?

3) Would David Haye still be a force to be reckoned with among todays heavyweights?

Opinions please..
