Does boxing work against untrained fighters ?

of course, fake with the left and hit him twice with ur right hand, and u can trow right uppercuts to the body and left hooks like the master tson did

If that clown or anyone else just charges at you and starts flailing away, simply circle back and fire quick, snapping jabs at his face. Each time he comes at you and you circle back and clip him, he'll charge less and less aggressively 'til you reach the point that, instead of circling back, you simply stand your ground, bend your knees and tuck your chin down, and simply fire a quick, steady stream of HARD jabs - after you land the first couple of them, he'll back off and then YOU can go after HIM behind more jabs. Hitting him several times in the face with some good, hard ones will make him think twice about going after you again.

If he doesn't give up, pop him with a few more jabs and then show him a couple of feints, which will really make him flinch after having eaten some punches, and then you take the wraps off your right and hook and fire them in combo after the jab.

Won more than a few streetfights just with the jab becuz all one has to do is land a few hard ones around the face and you can't fail to break a nose &/or split a lip &/or close an eye &/or open up a bad cut, etc. Since one doesn't wear gloves in streetfights, a jab can do plenty of damage, so one need not leave themselves open by throwing nothing but "powerpunches" (indeed, on a couple of occasions when I fought southpaw - I'm righthanded but can fight orth or lefty - I fractured one guy's orbital bone and another's cheek just with my jab).

Most importantly, stay calm and be disciplined becuz that goof won't be, esp after you hit him a few times.

There's no need to fight on the streets, you could seriously hurt or kill someone. If you've done boxing training you will win easily. After two mins of boxing he'll get tired and self doubt will creep in.....it is up to you to cover up and pose for two minutes while the storm blows out. But seriously, I'd not do it. Just go down your local gym, get some selfconfidence and be happy in the knowing, you don't need to fight anyone......you're good enough as you are without fighting.......

It certainly doesn't hurt, but in street fighting everything comes into play, kicks, grapples, spitting, gouging so you never know. But just the fact that you are asking this question tells me you probably aren't very confident which isn't good. Most street fighters just run in and swing giant hooks. I would just take a couple of steps back, let him swing once or twice, pick your spot and fire a straight right. Good luck.

Of course boxing works in and outside of the boxing ring, hopefully only in self defense because a trained boxer will seriously disable any one out side of the boxing ring

Sure, it works. In boxing, you are taught how to slip, duck or parry punches. If you master these techniques, wild swinging punches are quite easy to evade, and one perfectly placed counter-punch can knock your opponent cold.

yes boxing is very effective on the street, from my experience. but it really comes down to your ability, and since you doubting yourself , your on allready on the backfoot. you should really get to the gym more often and start sparring.

I'm fighting some dude at school Friday and everyone is going to show up . What if he starts swinging at me crazy like with hay makers and power hits only ? What am I supposed to do ? I'm in boxing and I wanted to know if boxing will work against someone who has no technique and is just going crazy ?
