If Germany (7) vs Brazil (1) was a boxing match, how would you describe such humiliation?

Good analogies. It's easy to compare a 7-1 soccer beatdown to a quick knockout. However, since the loser is in the game til the end, I tend to view it as a one sided beating.

.

When I first read your question, Calzaghe vs Lacy came to mind. However, again, a 7-1 loss is devastating. Lacy didn't win a round, at least not on my card.

.

I like the Klitschko vs Peter ll analogy even better. Even though a soccer game goes to the final minute, there is still not much the loser contributes. In this regard, being beaten up, then knocked out, is the ultimate humilation. It's a classic beat down.

Germany 7- Brazil 1 is closer to Klitschko vs Peter ll, IMO.

Under the circumstances and the fact that Brazil was the number one ranked team in the world and playing at home there is nothing in sports history that comes close to this embarrassing defeat.

Since it went the distance you can not call this a knockout in less than 10 seconds but it would be something like a boxer getting beat to a bloody pulp and knocked down several times in each round without a 3 knockdown rule, and the ref should have stopped the fight, but allowed the punishment to continue and the score being something like 100 to 50 or even less since each round as more than a 10-8 round, more like a 10-4 round.

Well, i think it aint a good year for Brazil -and also last year. The greatest mma fighter the world has seen in Anderson Silva got kayoed last year. He was unbeaten too then in the Octagon. This year Weidman just destroyed him. It's not the fight i think of comparing this Germany vs Brazil total denomination. But there's one of recent this match would be worth comparing to - TJ Dillashaw's destruction of one of UFC's pound for pound fighter in Renan Barao. TJ just beat The Baron in every way possible, in the ground, in the stand up, in the clinch. Barao got beaten from top to bottom, and he had just no answer. You watch UFC buddy? Try this one and you'll fall in love. I admit, this is definitely one of sport's best and finest performance.

If Germany (7) vs Brazil (1) was a boxing match, how would you describe such humiliation?

I really cant think of any other boxing match except the one you pointed out- Douglas kayoing then undisputed undefeated Iron Mike. 42 -1 seemed too high to overcome. But the greatest underdog came up and destroyed what many thought was indestructible.

Germany was the favorite coming in. Also Brazil lost their best player, so that even made Germany a bigger favorite. Brazil has been struggling for a decade, and weren't even top 10. If it were boxing, It would be a real big hype job getting beaten badly, and embarrassed by a legit opponent.

Given the importance of rivals in competition, propagandistic impact was equivalent to the fight

Foreman vs. Frazier I

Brazil NEVER lost that way throughout its history in the World Cup

Brazil was too loudmouth and cocky in the past, glad they've been getting beat alot. Yeah, i play FIFA video games and i could tell that Germany was super powerful overall all around.

Larry Holmes vs. Tex Cobb. Most brutal beating I've ever seen. It made Howard Cossel quit covering fights because he didn't want to see someone die.

It's disappointing really. However, they lost their star player in Neymar so its just hard to organize without him.

Better luck next time Brazil.

like the pac/jmm4...total ko

but you see, brazils top players neymar and silva aint there...

why the gerries suddenly became invincible over night

same way jmm suddenly possessed tysons power overnight and blew away pac like a piece of paper on the 3rd round...

somethin aint normal

Before i ever read a single thing you wrote I was about to say Calzaghe destroying Lacy.

Would it be a devastating KO ala Tyson vs Spinks, a wide (humiliating) decision ala Calzaghe vs Lacy, a brutal TKO after a devastating beating ala W. Klitschko vs Sam Peter II?

I am a huge sports fan and I can't recall a greatest humiliating loss in the history of any sport. Last night's show made "miracle on ice" and Tyson losing to Douglas looking plain. Brazil took the kind of beating (and at home in front of many thousands of their fans) people will talk about in 100 years from now.

I think that was even worse than team USA with James, Antony, Bosh, Paul and the rest NBAers losing to tiny Greece in the semis of the 2006 world championships.

It'd be a quick stoppage

I think that Germany is a good balance teem so then they have win
