If you could be any fighter for a year who would it be ,i'd be Duran between beating palomino & leonard?

I'd be Henry Armstrong, who beat Barney Ross for the welterweight title straight from the featherweights and later going down one division to beat Lou Ambers for the lightweight crown, becoming the first and only boxer to hold three world titles simultaneously at 126 lbs., 135 lbs. and 147 lbs. all inside one year (1938) Not only that, in winning the titles, Armstrong defeated two future Hall of Famers and ATGs like himself.

Per Wikipedia account----: "In 1938, Armstrong started with seven more knockouts in a row, including one over future world champion Chalky Wright. The streak finally ended when Arizmendi lasted ten rounds before losing a decision to Armstrong in their fourth fight. His streak of 27 knockout wins in a row qualifies as one of the longest knockout win streaks in the history of boxing, according to The Ring. After the fourth bout with Arizmendi was a bout with Fritzie Zivic's brother, Eddie Zivic, resulting in another Armstrong knockout win and after one more bout, Armstrong, the 126 pound division world champion, challenged a fellow member of the three division champions' club, Barney Ross, then World Welterweight Champion, for the title. Armstrong, 133?, beat Ross, 142, by unanimous decision, adding the World Welterweight Championship to his featherweight belt. Then, he went down in weight and challenged World Lightweight Champion Lou Ambers. In a history making night, Armstrong became the first boxer ever to have world championships in three different divisions at the same time, by beating Ambers by split decision"

No boxer has even come near to duplicating that.

I can't top your answer between June 1979 and June 1980 Roberto Duran was the man. A p4p great at his peak. He was 28 years old, had seven years as lightweight champion behind him and gave his two best performances vs Palomino and Leonard. Palomino was a very good welterweight champion and Duran gave a masterful performance winning by virtual shutout.

Then of course there was Leonard, Leonard was a super star and Duran bullied him all around the ring and won a decision.

As you say, Duran was like the king of Panama. He once said "I am not God, but something very similar." That sounds very arrogant but in Panama he was treated that way. Women, money, adoration, parties, he had it all.

I wouldn't fancy being him after the second Leonard fight, when he was disowned by his fans and the boxing community for a while.

However being Duran for a year between mid 79 and mid 80 would be great.

Floyd Mayweather Jr... 2006... Beat De La Hoya and Hatton. Biggest ppv numbers ever!

Floyd Mayweather Jr. without a doubt! He has it made! He has billions of dollars, a beautiful fiancé, and is the greatest P4P boxer of all time. Yeah, he talks **** but, that's because he can. He's 44-0. Undefeated and until he loses he can keep talking all he wants. I mean this guy could do anything and buy anything he wants. He carries around $1,000,000 where ever he goes in a duffle bag for crying out loud! It's not like anyone is going to take it from him. He also has THE BEST defense ever. I mean this guy has got it made.
