In your opinion, who is a 'better' character? Muhammad Ali or Mike Tyson?

I'm not talking about who will win a boxing match. Who do you think is/was a more interesting character and why?

I'm in the minority here, but to me, it's Mike Tyson.

Maybe this is because of the fight that I love the intimidating fighter. Tyson is so awesome. His character is the intimidating, sadistic brawler from Catskill, New York. He would put fear into all his opponents before they even step into the ring with him. Tyson doesn't talk much, and relies more on his action in the ring. Tyson pretty much is the boxing version of The Undertaker.

I also like Ali, but his character is just a big trashtalker, loudmouth who do a lot of trashtalking. I prefer the intimidating boxer like Tyson. While Muhammad Ali is the boxing version of The Rock.

Obviously Ali. Many networks around the world wanted to host his visit and there was no need for a host;

Thumbs up to Billboxing, well said. Mentioning both names in the same sentence does a great dishonor to Ali, who was for all his human flaws a great champion, a great man and a great American icon. Tyson on the other hand was at best a heavyweight historical curiosity, a heavy puncher of mediocre talent and no real character.

Ali was superior in every comparable category with the exception of slugging percentage.

Ali by far.........He is/was a world figure traveling all over the world as not only a fighter but an ambassador too. He met kings, queens, Presidents of other countries and was accepted everywhere. Tyson did none of these, but rather presented himself as a thug and nut case . D'Amato ,

Jacobs and Cayton tried to present a good image of Tyson, but when he went with King and the G girls, IMO, everything about him changed for the worse
