Is it true that Tyson never knocked out Tillis, Smith, Tucker and Green in his prime to prove he had stamina?

I've heard a few times that Tyson wanted to go the distance and win on points to prove he had the stamina to go 12 rounds.

No I do not believe that. These men were in survival mode. They were just there to go the distance and did not care about winning. The whole point was they were going to be standing erect at the end of the fight. There is an old saying in boxing the toughest men to knock out are the ones who do not want to be knocked out. How true. Also Tillis and Green lasted the 10 round distance. Both Smith and Tucker in the championship bouts went the full distance 12 rounds.

Yes, it is true. You can't knock everybody out. Even great punchers like Sonny Liston and George Foreman went the distance a few times. James "Quick" Tillis was quick and he box instead of slug it out with Mike and Bonecrusher Smith was warned for excessive holding, he was just tried to survive.

No, risking losing the fight to prove he had stamina would be pointless.

It's clear from watching the fights that he had every intention of knocking them out.

I don't quite believe this. Tyson had only one goal in mind whenever he entered the ring - to hurt and literally kill his opponent as quickly as possible.
