Is joe calzaghe underrated is he good enough for a spot in the boxing hall of fame?

I've always been a calzaghe fan, watched all his fights when he was active and have met him in person. he most definitely deserves to be in the hall of fame but as the years go by I do start to think that he may be a tiny bit overrated. I get a bit annoyed always hearing him mouthing off even to this day. he seems very bitter and I remember when he got busted by the newspapers in a cocaine scandal, he was recorded slating hatton and lennox lewis, claiming he was better than them.

joe had the talent and potential to beat everyone, but I feel that a lot of when we talk about him is reduced to "what if" because he didn't face everyone he should of and that's his own fault. he didn't want to travel and he didn't want hard fights....that's from his own mouth. he was an awesome talent and the best around, but his resume' is not as great as it could have been. his wins over Hopkins and Kessler were good, chris eubank was very old when joe fought him, and the roy jones fight isn't even worth mentioning.

calzaghe has done more than enough to get into the hall of fame but I feel he had the potential to accomplish so much more in his career if he wanted to.

There are a lot less deserving boxers in the hall of fame, and if you look what hopkins has achieved since the fight in 2008, and other opponents such as bika becoming a world champion it puts into perspective that ( other than jones ) he was fighting quality fighters. Also WBO, IBF, WBC, WBA, Ring Magazine, 21 defenses, world champ for 11 years and a two weight world champion, his achievements are very deserving of a place in the boxing hall of fame.

Joe Calzaghe will more than likely end up in the Hall of Fame based on his body of work as a Super Middleweight Champion and title holder. When you look at his accolades as a 168lbs fighter they're aren't many fighters that come close in comparison, regardless of who he did and didn't fight.

Personally, I don't put much stock in Undefeated Record because I'm among the group of Hardcore Boxing Fans that feel like Joe padded his record and faced a lot of journeymen. I don't rank Joe that high because I feel like his resume is questionable, but thats just my opinion.

I think he will definitely get a place in the Hall of Fame and deservedly so. I also think Calzaghe is really underrated, people need to look not only at who he beat but at how he beat them. He won 46 fights and only 2 of them were close (Hopkins SD and Reid SD), he beat everybody else he faced comfortably.

joe is one of the few people to have a better boxing record then floyd mayweather he also ended mikkel kessler unbeaten record he also has victory's over benard hopkins and roy jones jr some people say jones and hopkins were out of there prime but still two legendary american fighters he also beat chris eubank who was a very good boxer I think he should one day have a spot in the boxing hall of fame
