What's wrong with using lateral movement in boxing?

None at all.

lateral movement is different than backcycling or running....

its used on both offense and defense, but running? its merely surviving.... sad most judges sees it as effective defense to favor runners...

Nothing wrong really. Whoever said it's wrong definitely meant not boxing but chess.

It ain't lateral movement if its deliberate running like a scared chicken. One can dodge, slip, bob, weave, stick, move left and right, etc. But always running away is kinda annoying to watch in a fight. Not unless its track and field.

Lateral Movement is a very important part of boxing. There is an old saying I believe rings true. It goes like this the whole object of boxing is hit without being hit. Also movement is essential for defense it is harder to hit a moving target. Do not get lateral movement and running confused they are obviously different.

lateral movement is fine and actually a very smart offensive/defensive tactic, but If you're referring to The recent fight, then Running is exactly the opposite.

Who wants to stand there and take a punch when you could out of the way?I don't understand why people find issues with lateral movement. I think people who say that are flat footed and unathletic who if they had that ability they would do it as well. Since they don't they have to rely soley on being heavy footed stationary fighters with no actual skill.
