MULTIPLE CHOICE: IF Mayweather KO's Canelo Alvarez,it will elevate my opinion of Mayweather to...?BQ's?

What all time greats does he have on his record? JMM and arguably an almost shot Dela Hoya that was vaporized by Pacquiao a year later and a past prime Sugar Shane. He moved up in weght when things were heating up in the lighter weight classes and he retired when things were heating up.

He ducked Margarito Paul Williams and Pacquiao. Wafer thin resume. Coward, Cherry picker and ducker. When he eventually loses all you fans will scatter and go to the new best guy.

Mayweather will never be a true ATG as he is a coward that ducked the best fights. To mention him in the same breath as Sugar Ray Robinson and Henry Armstrong etc is sacrilegious and shows a distinct lack of boxing knowledge. Most of you guys probably have never seen Sugar Ray Robinson fight.

Mayweather has the skills of a champion but the heart of a coward.

If you don't have Floyd in your top 50 then you really are a hater. Floyd is one of the most gifted boxers to come along in the last 25 years. He's unbeaten, he makes in-fight adjustments like no one I've ever seen, and he's arguably the best defensive fighter in history. How he would not make anyone's top 50 is beyond me..

But beating bigger guys is nothing new to Floyd. He's been doing it his whole career. I give him full credit for beating Oscar at 154 because he didn't ask Oscar to fight at a catch-weight like Pacquiao did. He beat a bigger, stronger, and better version of Oscar than the gaunt, weight drained Oscar that Pac beat. Floyd is so skillful that it doesn't matter that some of these guys outweigh him by 10 or 20 pounds on fight night. He beats them with skill and smarts.

I have said it many times. Floyd has moved up from Super Featherweight 5 time to Jr Middleweight, fighting bigger guys and fails to get credit for it. Some idiots call him a coward. Cowards don't do that.

Yes Oscar was older...but Floyd schooled him and deserved as much credit as anyone else beating a reigning champion a weight class above him.

To answer your biggest question, to me, Floyd is already top 10 or 15. This KO cements top 10 and threatens top 5.

None of the above. Am not a hater but I consider Floyd as among the top 50 fighters all-time

BQ: No, Floyd's win over ODLH at JUNIOR MIDDLEWEIGHT is not underrated. It was among his career-defining wins.

BQ2: Yes, many fans especially his haters put him to task for coming into his comeback fight versus Marquez a few pounds over the catch weight limit despite him paying a huge fine. But they conveniently gloss over the fact that he fought many of his fights especially moving up from the junior lightweights out-weighed by many of his opponents at fight time including guys like Corrales, Castillo, even by Baldomir, Ortiz and Guerrero. He deserves credit for that.

I already consider him an all time great. If he KO's Canelo. I think he is a Top 10 Welterweight of all time, and a Top 5 Light Middleweight of all Time.

BQ1 - I don't think so. DLH was closing in on retirement.

BQ2- I think it is over looked.

Floyd Mayweather is already a one of the All-Time Greats in my opinion. However, I don't think knocking out Saul Alvarez would magically elevate him to mythic proportions, especially not Top Five All-Time.

Beating Alvarez will unquestionably enhance Floyd Mayweather's legacy, but I think we also have to understand that Saul Alvarez is still cooking in some regard. He hasn't yet blossomed into the type of fighter that his potential would suggest.

If Floyd knocks him out in September and then five years from now Saul Alavrez turns out to be this All-Time Great from Mexico than I think we'd have to truly evaluate where Floyd stands among the greats.

As for now I just look at it as Floyd taking a dangerous fight with a young, hungry, but inexperienced and unproven Champion.

In many ways its like Lennox Lewis' win over Vitali Klitschko, at the time it looked as though Lennox struggled with a last minute substitute, but eventually time revealed that Lennox beat one of the Greatest Heavyweight Champions ever.

Back to your question; if Floyd knocks him out and "Canelo" turns out to be the Next Julio Cesar Chavez or Juan Ma Marquez then that would enhance Floyd's status greatly. I still wouldn't consider Mayweather at Top Ten...but it would place him in the Top Fifteen to Twenty.

First off you need to know what you're talking about before you open your question. Because DLH weighed 160 on fight night and it was a Jr MIDDLEWEIGHT bout not jr welterweight. And no he isnt the best boxer ever. Duran, Leonard, Whitaker, Chavez Snr and Sanchez would school him any time. Whitaker and Chavez have the best defense ive seen without having to move consistently like Floyd. And he only impressed me with his defense against DLH offense not so much because he got hit and swelled up and ran like a *****. I know its his game plan but ive never seem Floyd get backed up and worked like the way DLH did to him and it was a Split decision. Meaning floyd could've lost. But id rate him as a top 10. But these days everyone wants to have heavyweights only.

I would put him in top 10

A.) The best boxer I've ever seen, period.

B.) Arguably the best of all-time.

C.) Top 5 of all-time.

D.) Top 10 of all-time.

E.) I am a hater and don't even have Mayweather in my Top 50.

Let's face it. Canelo is going to be a monster on fight night (165 lbs+/23 years old). If Mayweather on fight night (149-150 lbs/36 years old) pulls off a KO/TKO, it will be legendary! People don't give Mayweather credit for consistently fighting guys 10+ lbs heavier than him on fight night.

When history looks back at him fighting DLH, they will mention that DLH reportedly weighed 168-170 on fight night and Mayweather weighed 148 on fight night(well below 154 limit), which makes it even more amazing considering it was Mayweather's first time at that weight-class.

BQ: Is Mayweather's victory over DLH at Junior Welterweight underrated?

BQ2: Is Mayweather's opponents out-weighing him by 10-plus pounds on fight night overlooked by fans and media and should Mayweather be getting more credit for doing this?

Mayweather's first fight in a new weight-class against Diego Corrales, Diego out-weighed him by 10 lbs. DLH reportedly by almost 20. Ortiz was recently 14 lbs heavier on fight night. Cotto was over 10 lbs, but nobody knows exact number. Guerrero was over 10 pounds heavier. The list goes on and on if you do your research.

Look forward to your answers and thoughts. I know I should have made some of these separate questions, but I think the good contributors and true boxing fans will like and understand this question.
