Only way cotto can beat alvarez is by fighting smart and boxing,,, keeping his distance, he cant brawl with canelo thats for sure his chin wont hold up or his stomach for that matter. Canelo by tko , cotto might look like how he looked after the first margarito fight once the fight is over and end up quitting on his stool or the canvas again. Cotto still has a shot to win this fight but he would have to use his experience and natural better boxing skills in order to beat canelo. Somewhere between rounds 8-10 i expect Cotto to quit or his corner to stop the fight thats my prediciton.
If this were to happen post Cotto & Roach, I would say Canelo by TKO late rounds. And granted Cotto has been in a lot of wars that have taken years off of his carreer, but he looks to have that snap back in his punches. He is still not the same Cotto he was prior to the Margaritto and Pac fights but he looks like he has a little hop to his step now with Roach, and Im curious to see how Canelo will handle someone who is can potentially hurt him and KO him. If Cotto bangs that body this will be very interesting. Its a tough fight to call as it stands. And Cotto is a much better boxer than Canelo, he might be smaller and slower but he has great timing and underated boxing skills.
Canelo crushes Miguel in less than 7 rounds. He needs the result after his poor showing against Mayweather. Miguel is too old and no longer competitive at the top level despite him switching trainers, that last result was due to Rodriguez not being on the same level. Cotto gets crushed by the younger Mexican any day of the week.
I'd go with Cotto because he's tougher and more experienced. If he'd come in great physical condition, I think he'd outsmart and outpunch Canelo. I mean, we saw Canelo against Floyd and we all found out that he's not in the same level.

I have Alvarez as he is the more powerful and youthful fighter. Cotto has a huge experience edge but he has been through many wars. Their both aggresive fighters but l lean to Alvarez as he has advantages over Cotto's best such as power, size, weight and speed.
