Will boxing get me in shape?

If you are looking to get a bit toned then yes you will, but not like the proffesional boxers you see, if you want to get ripped you can box and lift weights afterwards or before training. I just started boxing a couple weeks ago and I am already feeling my shoulders and calds sore. I am hoping I can lose some weight and tone up.

Any kind of exercise will help get you into shape, not just boxing. Joining the YMCA will get you into shape. Playing basketball in the park will help get you into shape. Walking around the park will get you into shape. Taking karate classes will get you into shape. You're limiting yourself to just boxing.

i think it will tone you, but ripped no .. thats not what boxing is about and most really 'ripped' guys they throw out in the ring with a seasoned guy that doesnt even look that solid gets their can cleaned because theyre all bound up, slow, and lack real power ..

Yes course it will. And mainly shoulders, abs, pecs and arms.

I am 16, 5'10, and 142 pounds. I'm in pretty good shape but don't have any definition. I have a TINY amount of fat over my stomach so I don't have abs, but I have good oblique muscles. I just started boxing a few weeks ago and we do conditioning st the end of each class. Will boxing help get me ripped? If so, what muscles will I see the best results in?
