Was Rocky Marciano one of the strongest fighters physically pound per pound?

For his size, yeah.

Have you seen the size of his legs? They were like tree-trunks. Now I'm going to be realistic, he didn't hit like Tyson or Foreman - and would probably lose to either one, he'd probably lose to Frazier too. But he hit like a bulldozer.

He did 12-15 mile runs before his fights, he'd usually do 8-10 but he'd up it up before a fight. He didn't have any 'walking around' weight - that is where most fighters only get into shape when a fight is signed. He was in tremendous shape and upped the level.

He hit a 300lb Heavybag (specially made) and he hit it like a rag-doll. He figured that to push around 200+ heavyweights, so punching a bag that heavy will work. He also had great leverage, between his punches he transferred his 185lb weight into single-punches.

Yes. Even in those early days, Marciano was smaller for the heavyweights yet weighting less than 190 lbs. he can out-muscle bigger foes, some towering over him and outweighing him by at least 20 lbs.and separating them from their senses at times by just a mighty swing.

No...THE strongest PFP.

yes. he was super strong.
