Who is the best "boxer" in boxing now?

Floyd is one of the greatest pure boxers of all time. I do like Rigondeux but some times his amuture background gets in the way. He has every thing to be great but holds back his big shot. But that being said i dont see him losing for awhile. Mayweather is better in my humble opinion.

Yeah Rigondeaux is under appreciated but at the same time he should make more effort to connect with the fans. A good start would be attempting to learn how to speak English. I stick up for Rigondeaux for his skill in the ring but i don't like when fighters earn their income in a country but can't be bothered to speak the language the country they are in speak. Golovkin's English isn't great but he's improving and actually trying to learn.

Mayweather's style is better suited to the pro's, lands flush and eye catching punches rather than just throwing to score. Rigo is getting better fight by fight but right now i'd say Mayweather is the best boxer.

I agree. Rigo has the perfect blend of defense and power threat which I think he honed to perfection while still in the amateurs. It's the ideal of the characteristic Cuban-Soviet style of fighting built around almost solid defense and the uncanny ability to strike or counter-strike with maximum power and impact either with the left or the right hand. Floyd is just more flashy and with slightly better defense but he does not have Rigo's offensive arsenal which is a form of defense or at the very least a deterrence in itself.

The best boxer in the world currently is Mayweather. Mayweather has more versatility in his boxing arsenal than Rigondeaux. Rigondeaux is a pure elite outside-defensive counter-puncher boxer. He relies on his footwork to move away from punches, and never puts his back on the ropes or fights on the inside. Mayweather can fight on the outside, mid-range, on the ropes, or in the pocket, while counter-punching extremely accurately and keeping a perfect defense at the same time at elite class level. Rigondeaux statistically has around 16% opponent connectivity rate against Mayweathers 18% connectivity rate, which is 2% better than Mayweathers, therefore Rigondeaux's defense is slightly better statistically. But Mayweather's connectivity rate is 42%, while Rigondeaux connectivity rate is 25%. And you have to take into consideration both of their resumes. Mayweather's resume is a lot better because he has fought almost 4 times more fights than Rigondeaux has been in, and has been in tougher fights than Rigondeaux as well. Who knows how his statistics would be if he had as many fights as Mayweather has. So basically, technically Mayweather is the better boxer. And I think personally believe Mayweather is a better boxer because he is a lot more versatile and is better at adapting to his opponents than Rigondeaux.

Yeah I agree with Rigo. Defense, Power, Accuracy, Footwork, Speed, Conditioning, he has it all. Mayweather is greater in terms of professional accomplishments, but Rigo's Olmypic/Amateur accomplishments blow Mayweathers out of the water.

Rigo hands down.

Rigo Is the most pure boxer today.

Andre Ward definitely belong on the list if you're talking about the sweet science called "boxing" but in terms of exitement as in a KO being iminate ,i would have to go with fighters like Manny Pacquiao ,Lucas Matthysee ,Deontay Wilder ,Marcos Maidana and Gennady Golovkin.

My main man Guillermo Rigondeaux

How long before we get to see Lomachenko vs Rigondeux? That could be a phenomenal fight of two of the greatest amateur boxers ever.

I see it as a straight choice between Mayweather and Rigondeux and I choose Rigondeaux! Drink it in boys this genius won't be around forever!

Hopkins and Ward are not eligible as they are more spoiler/boxers. Still slick, but far far less pleasing to the eye.

ALL HAIL KING RIGO! No 1 P4P boxer.
