Who's the actual king of gift decisions in boxing?

devon alexander, tim bradley, rocky martinez any other names.

mike mctigue over tiger flowers was one of the worst in history. mike's win over battling siki was pretty bad too by all accounts.

There have been places notorious for hometown decisions and local fighters are usually recipients of gift decisions.

But if you are talking about famous fighters then and now, there had been a few in major title fights which included Julio Cesar Chavez ( draw with Whitaker, last two seconds TKO over Taylor ), Oscar de la Hoya ( wins over Ike Quartey Felix Sturm ), Manny Pacquiao ( technical draw with Agapito Sanchez, draw with and SD, MD over Marquez ), Floyd Mayweather ( close decisions over Castillo and ODLH ).

There's no actual king of gift decisions in boxing at high level, i think.

@--What more damage can Chavez do in two ticks, and he even have that little time to even get to Taylor from the neutral corner? It's a **** job really coming from that shitty ref! It's a gift TKO! If it is basketball I would agree that one can toss a winning shot. But bursting from one's corner to land a haymaker in two ticks? Long shot!

I would've said DA.

He isn't active obviously, but Paul Williams got some gift decisions before his accident. The first Martinez fight I had him losing, and the Lara fight was a straight up robbery.

I can't really think of any active fighters besides Alexander off the top of my head.

The first name that came to mind was Sugar Ray Leonard, Ray didn't deserve the victory over Hagler, and he certainly didn't deserve the draw with Thomas Hearns in their second fight.

The second name that came to mind was Muhammad Ali, he had razor thin decision victories over both Norton and Frazier that could have went either way, and truth be told I thought Jimmy Young also could have been given the nod over Ali in their fight. Ali's name as much as his ring performances got him past those guys.

De La Hoya clearly lost to both Pernell Whitaker and Felix Sturm but still got the nod, and in Oscar's favor I gave him 7 of the 12 against Felix Trinadad but Oscar got the short end on that one, so I guess it evened out with De La Hoya.

De la hoya diffently de la hoya.
