Boxing: Do you believe Hopkins would not fight Ward for 15 million dollars?

If not, is that considered ducking?

I think that Hopkins WOULD fight Ward for $15,000,000.00

I also think that one thing you could never say about Hopkins is that he ever ducked anyone. If he declined the 15 mill to fight Ward, I would except what ever reason he used and would never say that he ducked this fight.

I used to hate watching him fight at times, but got nothing, and I mean NOTHING but respect for this boxer.

No, if the fight could be made for 15 million, Bernard would take the fight. If he didn't yes, it would be considered ducking Ward. Boxing is a ruthless sport that has never been kind to older fighters, and if Bernard chooses to continue, he should fight the best available. Ward is the best out there, and odds would be Hopkins couldn't beat Andre, but if Bernard did beat Ward writers wouldn't have the words to describe the accomplishment.

I think that it is only ducking when there is something to prove. In a 25 year career that saw a 10 year 20 title defense reign at Middleweight, a resurgence and comeback when people thought he was finished, and two record breaking performances in the last few years from a 48 year old fighter; I could not even think to call it ducking. I think that people might be holding Hopkins' recent performances against him if they come to that conclusion. There is an expectation in boxing that you fight the best to be the best. Hopkins already fought the best to be the best in his era, slightly past it, and now into advanced age.

I think that to expect him to fight as shook put it, the second, if not the best P4P fighter today is asking too much. I don't think that Hop would get knocked out, but I do think that he would take the most punishment that he has taken in a fight. Ward is not a knockout fighter although he can bang. Hopkins is too slick to allow himself to get knocked out as well, but Andre can make things very rough and would be there to win and prove his dominance.

I am hoping that Hopkins finally listens to his mom and hangs up the gloves. He has done enough for the sport.

Hahahahahaha if they offered Hopkins 15 M he would fight Ward and is daddy on the same night. Remember Hopkins is a con man and he is the best that has ever boxed.I know Bernard would not duck anyone so I won't answer this question.

I don't think he will fight Ward for 15 million. Ward's style is all wrong for Hopkins and he'd get beaten pretty easily.

I don't consider it ducking if he doesn't fight Ward. Hopkins is 48, he's earned the right to fight whoever he wants to and he knows which fights are right for him. Hopkins has huge respect for Ward and see's him as his kind of fighter, kind of the next Bernard Hopkins, and if their is one person Bernard would say could beat him, it's a younger version of himself.

hopkins might have a price i'm not sure but i think he knows facing ward could be too dangerous a risk.fighters are confident people but at 48 years old hopkins knows ward has got his number,it would come down to wether he is willing to REALLY RISK HIS HEALTH for a big amount of money.hopkins knows his chances would be very slim and i can't see him taking this one.

Ducking,In theory yes but do i hold it against him NO,absolutely not.this is a 48 year old man were talking about.i give him all the credit he deserves for a 48 year old he is a phenomenon but he is still 48 and i would never hold it against a 48 year old man for not fighting the man who is IMO the p4p king of the sport.if he were to take this fight he would be risking his life more than he ever has because the way i see it, the odds would be stacked too heavily against him and a KO would be somewhat likely.

the things that's scary to think about is last year when he was being interviewed by the sky team they asked him "what's the one thing you want people to remember about your legacy after your gone?" and he said "GUTS.he had nothing but guts"

i already think the mans showed guts but if he fights ward he should get the medal of honour.

He probably would! He's 48 and has accomplished just about everything there is to accomplish except for being undefeated, and becoming the world's highest paid athlete.

If not, is that considered ducking?
