All bias aside...

At last, a voice of sobriety and sanity. Not only the fans are polarized on this matter but also are the so-called boxing experts and journalists who should be calling for sanity and sobriety and holding realistic views about the possibility or impossibility of holding that fight. These pundits should be tempering public expectations and not raising false hopes after numerous so-called failed negotiations. It's obvious that Floyd and Manny are merely posturing with sound bites that are more meant to gain what we call as pogi points from the fans as well as promote their next scheduled fights than saber-rattling for a real future confrontasi.

@ 1939---And you think those people speak the bible truth about the matter? I would rather rely on my own analytical thinking, observation and gut feel than trust on other people who have their own biases. How credible are those people. The producer merely spliced videos and sound bites and you already believe that's true and convincing? After all these years of useless waiting and frustrations, you should trust your better judgment, too. I don't think they are insane, but they are blatantly biased! Objective people don't resort to taunting and ranting.

It might be true and correct but we can not just ignore facts of the effort done by these fighters, one in making it happen and the other trying all tricks in the books not to. It is also true that making a fight of this magnitude is not as easy as what we were thinking but all of this was being outweigh by the alibis. I just can not think of any more ways just to make it happen and not even sure of their intentions, the motives why one doesn't want it and why the other want it so much.

We, the fans can just guess and express our opinions on why we haven't seen it yet although most of it were baseless. Even this article was base on opinions and nobody knows what is behind the scene. None of these subjects won't tell us their real motives that left us all hanging in the air. We can only guess and blame others but the truth is still out there left to be found.

From everything I've read it seems like Bob Arum and Floyd are the two reasons why this fight isn't ever going to happen. Floyd probably doesn't like Manny but he despises Bob Arum. He's not afraid of his potential opponent, and never has been. That's the long and short of it.

Pacquiao does what Arum tells him to do, and despite all the smoke and mirrors between these two fighters... Floyd's hatred for Arum is why it's not ever going to happen.

If you took the promoters out of it, these guys would be willing to fight each other and find out once and for all who is better.

My money would be on Floyd (no pun intended) but Manny is the only at the elite level who has the skill set to challenge him.

The article is quite accurate. Team Pacquiao realizes that it's simply easier to point the finger at Mayweather because people will believe he is the one at fault. It's something like Victor Ortiz' decision to foul. I still believe that Ortiz did it because he figured the public hatred for Mayweather would mask or even justify his cowardly actions.

.

In the beginning, Mayweather was a bit distant. Part of this was because of the overwhelming support and love that Pacquiao received, especially from the American public. This would be difficult for anyone, especially a Black American athlete to deal with. It's bad enough when the general public views you as a villain. Now, Floyd created much of this himself. However, people made it more personal than business or a matter of competition. For this, Mayweather had no defense.

.

Knowing this, Team Pacquiao took this and promoted this attitude. This made it ok for them to blame Mayweather for everything. Now, I don't believe that Pacquiao himself is directly to blame for all of it. But he must take his share of the blame for two reasons. 1. He does what Arum tells him to do, without question. 2. He stands idly by and says or does nothing to correct those who speak wrongly about Mayweather.

.

In this case, it leaves Mayweather with a much bigger task of defending himself. It's one thing to make an assumption. It's another to make an accusation that is not directly true, only to leave the accused in a position where it's difficult to defend himself.

.

People don't understand the business side of it. Again, it's easy to make Mayweather look like the jerk by refusing to give Pacquiao 50%. This tells me that Pacquiao wants the fight but his people want something they're not entitled to. The more you dig, the more difficult it becomes to blame Mayweather. Most people don't dig. They don't read between the lines.

.

It's easy to paint Mayweather as the villain when he refuses to give in to these demands. But is it ok for Congressmen to practice Inside Trading? These figures at Top Rank want in on something they're simply not entitled to, nor should be.

.

Mayweather offered Pacquiao $40M. Again, it's easy to cry foul. However, Mayweather will still make his money. Pacquiao won't come close to that because he has FAR more hands in his pockets. From a financial standpoint, it would have been better had he taken Floyd's offer.

.

It's just business. If I sold you an idea, and I made more money than I ever dreamed of, only to see you make 10 times as much, is it necessarily unfair? I say it's fair if I would otherwise not have made nearly as much.

.

Such is the case with Pacquiao. The real problem is that the other parties, Arum and crew, don't want to be cut out. The question is "Do you Really HAVE to be involved?" It's just Greed and Ego, pure and simple.

.

Pacquiao wants it. In fact, I think he needs it. I don't blame Mayweather for insisting that the other greedy parties step aside. Pacquiao needs Mayweather a lot more than Mayweather needs Pacquiao.

Floyd Mayweather isn't ducking Manny Pacquiao ,Mayweather is ducking Bob Arum because of the bitter past between the two and Mayweather refuse to do business with Bob Arum.

People said Mayweather was scared of Miguel Cotto before they fought in 2012 but right after Cotto's contract expired with Bob Arum at the end of 2011 ,negotiations between Cotto and Mayweather begun and they fought the following May of 2012.

Mayweather refuses to do business with Bob Arum but as soon as Pacquiao's contract with Bob Arum and Top Rank expires at the end of 2014 ,i see Mayweather and Pacquiao finally making serious negotiations for the following May of 2015 ,Just like what happened right after Cotto's contract expired with Top Rank.
