Boxing: Pacquiao and the 2 year extension with Top Rank?

I don't think Pacquiao is ducking those guys. It certainly seems that way. But I think it's something worse than that.

.

Pacquiao is a damn fool. He's a great fighter but he is FAR too loyal to Bob Arum, more so than he realizes. Pacquiao could make THREE times as much money as a free agent.

.

It's a good thing that Arum is so damn old or he might just become even more creative. Their relationship reminds me more of a slave master showing favoritism to his favorite slave. Bob COULD do better by Pacquiao but I don't think he feels the need to.

.

If your boss keeps paying you minimum wage, while your coworkers earn so much more -and you never ask for a raise- why would he give it to you when he can continue not to? It happens in Corporate America quite often. If Bob takes 33%, and Pacquiao doesn't question it, why should Bob take less?

.

THAT is what that new slave contract is all about.

.

Make no mistake. Mayweather takes some of the blame for their fight not materializing. But Pacquiao is a Damn Fool for not taking the $40 million Mayweather offered him. He will Certainly NEVER make anywhere Near that much with Arum.

I'm not surprised, Pac isn't a smart person and Arum can easily manipulate him. We've seen it time and time before this.

All I know is it kills Pac ever facing the people you mentioned, b/c all the good 140lb-147lb fighters are with Al Haymon.

Get ready for Pac to fight Marquez, Cotto or Bradley again.

Let's forget Floyd for a minute, which fight is more attractive; Pac vs Thurman, Maidana, Porter, etc...

or Pac vs Marquez V, Pac Bradley III, etc..

I don't even think it's close TBH, I'd rather see Pac mix it up with the Haymon fighters, but sadly this contract extension is going to ruin any chance of that ever happening.

This shows that Pacquiao doesn't believed that Floyd really want to fight him. Floyd Jr. right now was looking for an opponent for his next fight. Why look else where when Manny was right there? They said that Amir can not fight because of the Ramadan but did they even bother to ask him? To wait for Floyd is a waste of time. He is too busy planning carefully his next move to stay unbeaten. He got to fight tune ups again.

Arum just took his fair share of the proceeds from Pacquiao fights, Sean.

Don't you think that Arum also contributes to where is Pac right now?

Floyd fans are the only ones who thinks Arum was screwing Pacquiao. And now you people are so desperate implying that Pac is ducking Floyd and other GBP fighters for signing another contract with TR.

In sum, I find it pathetic, Sean.

Look Pacquaio is very loyal to his promoter. He doesn't duck anyone, He fights everyone and he's one of the guy who gives you excitement when he boxed someone because he's not running around like Gayweather. Floyd is known to duck someone like ducking Pacquiao and now he's ducking Amir Khan. Why Floyd Gayweather sets his fight on September and doesn't have an oppoenent yet? It is simply because Amir Khan is on his religious stuffs and can't fight on that month so that's why Gayweather took this opportunity to duck him, so who do you think who ducks great fighters? and also Maidna, Canelo and Porter are not well known fast fighters, so tha's why Gayweather handpicked his opponent. Pacquaio and Khan had the agility and fast enough to beat Gayweather.

wwwuwuwait a minute, pac should do somethin to fight whoooo?

I thought those bums in haymon stable should be the ones doin somethin to get a fight from the #1welter, the #4 p4p next welter to floyd, and most of all the FOTD.... pac is their biggest payday apart from floyd dumdum... wtf are you talkin about? I dont even think those guys will fair against jmm and bradley.... yea not even to provo, wtf?

pacs been fightin p4p quality opponents here yo!

you call fighting top p4p welters ducking?

they should be the ones coming over to pac and not the otherway around

Pac is loyal to Roach, loyal to Arum, and loyal to his army of 'hangers on'....

That's the nature of him.... You will never change that aspect about him...

Loyalty is a word that is not generally associated with big time boxing. With Pacquaio, it's compulsory to show loyalty to live his life day to day...

I agree with some of the guys above me.. Pac is a fool to himself, and Arum is the perfect hyena to manipulate this 'flaw' in his character..

Pac is not ducking Mayweather... He never did. It's a case of having moral value's that money can't buy.

Maryweather is ducking him and has been for yrs, maybe he is not yet old enough for maryweather to beat him

nahh.. just your imagination,, Floyd is the only RICH COWARD in boxing and Floyd admitted it

Is it me or is signing this extension a form of ducking Floyd, Broner, Canelo, Danny Garcia, Maidana, Porter, Thurman, all the good fighters at Golden Boy? Wouldn't being a free agent like Cotto get Pacquiao more money fighting Floyd and cut out the middleman (Arum)?

Turn it around Sean and ask if those other fighters not signing up with Top Rank a form of ducking Pacquiao. It doesn't follow.

I think Pacquiao is just being loyal to a fault, which is a common trait for us Filipinos. Loyalty here is both a virtue and a vice depending on the people involved. I think Pacquiao having received his success from Arum just considers it dishonorable to leave him to make more money for himself. I also doubt he has the ability to become a manager himself.

Pactards are going to agree with their hero. Just like Flomos will. Actually I'll say it how I see it. Pac doesn't want the fight and just wants to be loyal to Bob. As for Floyd if Pac didn't resign I would bet he'd have another excuse but this time it won't be covered because Pac would've been a free agent. So I can bet Floyd was happy he resigned. Pac is just dumb.

Reverse psychology says Canelo, Mayweather, Garcia, Maidana, Broner, Porter and Thurman signing extension with Golden Boy equates to them ducking Pacquiao.

The fact is that i remember Pacquiao defeating Golden Boy Ricky Hatton, Oscar de la Hoya & Shane Mosley but since then Golden Boy has not matched it's fighters even with those of K2 and/or other promoters [not just Arum].
