How can I win a boxing match against my taller friend?

Stay low and move around a lot. He might have the reach advantage but that also makes him a bigger target for you to hit.

the reason when you punch and miss his head is because you are out of range which means you are to far apart from him you are not fighting to your advantage you need to get closer to him and punch his body so you should have a high guard defence to protect yourself when you are trying to get close to him and come in under his jab and punch his body but you got to be quick with your feet keep your defence up and when he throws his jab duck under it and go in to his body and start punching his body to wear him down. for example fighters like joe frazier and mike tyson were masters at getting inside against much taller opponents and punching there body to wear them down and then later in the fight when there opponents are tired from taking so many punches to the body they will bring there hands down to protect there body and that is when you hit them with big shots to the chin but you got to work the body first to set up the head shots good luck my friend

Try Bernard Hopkins style and if it works keep it. Or try Mike tyson style.

Hopkins style is short arm going back, and Tyson's style is short arm going forward.

Mayweather, James Toney, Joolio Ceasar Chavez, Tim Witherspoon is also other good short arm styles.

I think the issue is skill. Continue to spar, and you will get more skill.

My friend's height is 6"2 and my height is 5"8. When I duck, he keeps following me with his punches and when I move away his punches still follow me and I can't reach his head when I punch because he always punches me back,
