Is Andre Ward still fighting? Should he fight against Kovalev or GGG at some point in his career?

Jack Dempsey didn't refused................The country refused. It was the 20's while Marciano was the 50's. Two different era, two different trends of thought. The black man was thought inferior, fact, not my assessment and therefore, riots were the things resulting, Dempsey was a animal, a warrior that if allowed by society, his promoter, would gladly fought and probably beat Wills and other black heavyweights.

I'm sure Andre Ward isn't scared.

Kovalev is no superman ,he throws lots of hard punches but he seems a little vulnerable to a good counter punchers which someone of Wards skill set would exploit to the max.

He's still fighting and I'll admit, I thought it might have hurt Ward just to take a lay off that long even though it is Dawson that had to drop to 168 to face him, not the otherway around. I'd like to see him fight GGG.

I know you're just a racist troll but I had to answer this....

How can you suggest Ward is ducking GGG when he and his team stated they would be willing to fight ANYONE from 154-168, when the name of Ward came up they backtracked by saying he's not ready for Ward and wants to finish business at 160. Ok, that's fine they got a little carried away and would like to unify against Quillin/Sturm/Martinez BUT then as we know he is now on the verge of fighting Chavez Jr at 168. This is a clear duck but for some reason nobody ever calls out Golovkin or his team for doing this. They say they will move down after Chavez but when asked about Ward they said they wanted to clean out 160 first.

Jack Dempsey isn't a warrior he refused to fight black fighters.

If you think Mayweather runs you are a fight fan rather than a boxing fan, especially since post retirement in 2009/10, that may very well be the case since you brought up MMA. If you think Ward runs you are delusional, he hardly takes a step back.

Yes he should fight Kovalev when he moves up. The question is 'should Golovkin fight Ward at some point in his career' and the answer to that is also yes, Golovkin is 31 now and in his absolute prime, HBO have a love for heavily hyping power punchers so they can cash out in the short term hence they are more than happy to broadcast PPV with him against popular Chavez Jr, after that look for them to squeeze a few more mismatches at middleweight. After that they and team GGG will finally entertain the idea of him moving up to fight Ward. He'll be about late 32/33 and they would have got all they can out of him. No way they want to let a cash cow Golovkin lose to Ward at the moment when they haven't even fully milked the cow yet.

Edit: You expertly avoided 95% of what I said and focused on one line to make it look like i went on a racial rant which i didn't. Clever to avoid addressing the contradictions i pointed out.

These guys like Andre Golovkin Mayweather they are not boxers they are cashers boxing has been dead since this ppv stuff has been out .from the wide world of sports on down now they were your real boxers

He has legal issues with his promoter. And yes he is killing his career by doinf nothing and wasting his prime. And I hope him and GGG fight. And BTW GGG doesn't wanna fight ward just yet.

yeah he is still fighting but he has been quite since the dawson fight. I would love to see him fight Martinez or ggg

I think it's boxers like Ward killing boxing in this country. This boy might not be a fighter or a warrior but he got boxing skills. Why isn't he fighting more often? Do you think he could go toe to toe with Kovalev or GGG? I hope he won't duck both like Roy Jones ducked Dariusz Michalczewski back in the day.

Actually I hope Andre Ward won't be the next Sven Ottke or Roy Jones fighting at home exclusively.

I wish this country could still produce warriors like Rocky Marciano, Tony Zale, Carmen Basilio, Stanley Ketchel, Harry Greb and Jack Dempsey but it seems like the real men of this country nowadays are either serving in war zones or are fighting in MMA.

I think what American boxing needs today is real fighters going toe to toe with these beasts from Europe, not runners and ballet dancers like Ward and Mayweather; don't get me wrong, I'm loving me some European brothers, after all this where my ancestors come from but I would just like to see the likes of Chris Weidman, Johny Hendricks, Randy Couture, Dan Henderson, Chuck Liddell and Matt Hughes dominating boxing instead of MMA.
