Max Baer vs Ron Lyle?

Posted at: 2015-04-20
Prime for prime, 15 rounds with a serious trained Baer.

A serious trained Baer takes him out within 6 rounds. The reason Lyle lost to Foreman wasn't George's power or George's chin, it's the fact that he tired out too much during the fight. Lyle was so much tired after getting hit by Foreman and hitting back, that he colapsed. The same thing happened to Foreman during the "Rumble in the Jungle". Ali needed only 11 rounds to win by TKO against Lyle, because he used the rope-a-dope trick almost the whole fight through, so Lyle didn't waste any energy up to that point. Baer would simply outlast Lyle with his superior stamina. Baer was also only knocked unconscious once in his whole career and that was by super puncher Joe Louis. And Louis himself said that knocking out Baer was like trying to hit a brick out of a wall. Baer would be able to take Lyle's shots and would hit back with his sledge-hammer right hand(Baer's right isn't very different in power than Foreman's punches). After 6 rounds Lyle has taken some serious punishment and wasted his whole energy trying to knock Baer out. Than Baer would wear him down with some swinging heavy blows to the head.

Baer by 6th round KO

Baer was no push over when in shape and taking a bout serious. I f Foreman and others could beat Lyle and well conditioned Max Baer certainly could.

Max Baer if he was properly trained and motivated wins this. He had as much talent as anyone in the heavyweight division. He was just a big jokester who did not take boxing seriously. Lyle would have a punchers chance. He could hit hard. Max is overall better so I take him inside the distance.

Baer - 71-13, 53 KO wins --- Lyle would be target practice and MB notches a KO victory in round seven.
