What is the most times a boxer was knocked down in a fight and survived?

I'm not sure if this is a record or not but I would bet that it's at least close for a major fight between two all time great fighters. The fight I am referring to was the 3rd fight between Joe Jeanette and Sam McVey on April 17th, 1909 in which Jeanette won by TKO50. Yes that's right the 50th round, the longest fight in modern times. This fight is regarded as one of the greatest marathon fights in modern boxing history and both men agreed to fight this fight to the finish. Jeanette was knocked down 21 times in 21 rounds and a total of 27 altogether. Jeanette looked beaten after 19 rounds but somehow revived himself and took control of the fight and after the 40 round mark started knocking McVey down with regularity, though he still couldn't put him away. In the 42nd round Jeanette kocked McVey down 7 times and finally after 49 rounds, Mcey could no longer continue and Jeanette triumphed in this unbelievable test of endurance, will, courage and boxing ability.

Despite being knocked down 27 times Joe Jeanette won this fight!

Not sure how many times, but two that come to mind are the Archie Moore vs. Yvon Durell fights. Both went down and got up with Moore winning. Also, another is Foreman / Lyle. With George getting off the canvas more than once to finally beat Lyle.

joe grim was knocked down over a dozen times against jack johnson in 1905. it was only a 6 rounder.

well there are limitations...if you want to see a fight with 'heart' watch Mickey Ward vs Arturo Gatti.

Good q

i was just wondering. if you could, i would love a answer to both who got knocked down to most and made it to the end, and who got knocked down the most, but came back to win. thank you!
