Are American boxers overrated?

Posted at: 2015-04-20
Back in the day US boxers were the best: Joe Louis, Sugar Ray Robinson, Muhammad Ali, Rocky Marciano, to name a few....but now people are joining different sports like football, basketball, MMA, etc...and then you got alphabet titles, and then there's controversy and politics involved and then there's boxers who cherry pick opponents.

American boxers is not overrated:

Floyd mayweather have a 6 fight contract with Showtime. He can not fight outside his contract because he will violate the rules.

I know Lewis and Tyson did it but this is a different era.

Manny pacquiao, Timothy bradley, and Guillermo rigodeaux do not fight outside HBO/Top rank but they are never being criticised. Their is no reason to show double standards. They are in 2 different promotional companies.

HBO/Showtime.

They have over 50+ fights that should happen but people focus on Floyd mayweather.

When Floyd mayweather beat Oscar dela hoya. The " he's old theory comes out."

Oscar was 33 years old but he was in the top 10 p4p. He was a great fighter at that age.

Leonard vs. Duran have a record of ( 1 - 1 ) against eachother because Leonard won the rematch. It's your * opinion * to say whose better.

Chavez had over 95+ fights but the young Oscar whopped him twice.

Later ... the " he's old theory comes out."

Most people fall under the influence of excuses.

"Yet someone like Ali doesn't even edge a win against Larry Holmes [like Whitaker, he was the best at the time & in his prime] and the ''he's old'' theory comes out."

Lol...you methhead piece of garbage..

Americans are not overrated. The Two best boxers in the World are American. Ward, and Mayweather.

Name one Hall of famer, that the Klitschko's have beaten?

Yap

froch vs. dirrell gift decision.

Martinez vs. murray gift decision.

Sturm vs. macklin gift decision.

lol, they too have robberies.

yes

Is a black mans penis above average. ...........

Sometimes I guess, I don't look at black men's penises

very

The top American boxers according to Ring Magazine are; Floyd Mayweather [who doesn't fight outside Golden Boy & just handed over a belt], Timothy Bradley [who gets gift decisions], Adrien Broner [who recently got exposed] and Andre Ward [who i admit is legit but he hasn't left his division].

Yet when Wladimir Klitschko defeats more undefeated champions/top contenders than anyone in the history of the sport, and when he breaks historical records on title defenses [even after obliterating every top American heavyweight], Americans claim; ''his era is weak''.

Americans praise Sugar Ray Leonard but Roberto Duran did 3x more than Leonard ever did, and he whopped Leonards *** even though he was beat goods [went into first Leonard fight with over 70 pro fights].

Americans praise Pernell Whitaker yet Chavez went 80 wins undefeated in 30 title fights and still gave prime Whitaker a good fight even though Chavez was old.

Yet someone like Ali doesn't even edge a win against Larry Holmes [like Whitaker, he was the best at the time & in his prime] and the ''he's old'' theory comes out.

Thoughts?
