Boxing: Will signing with Golden Boy help Zab Judah at this point?

Of course GBP has the best at 140 (Garcia, Matthysse, Peterson, Broner, etc (except Rios and Alvarado)...but will it really help Zab?

in the sense that he will finally realize his potential and climb back atop the rankings.....NO

in the sense that GBH has plenty of top notch fighters around Zab's weight, and he has name value so he can probably count on one or two more paydays before he is 100% used up....YES

Zab was in the perfect position before he did this. He was w/ Main Events, so he could've fought anyone from TR or GB, and both have attractive fights for him.

He was in the Mike Alvarado discussion for a long time, but TR ended up going w/ Provodnikov b/c that's the fight HBO really wanted.

So I guess it doesn't hurt Judah, but he would've had more options if he didn't sign w/ GB.

Zab probably got good money, and GB has the best/deepest roster from 140-147lb, so if he had to go w/ GB or TR, he made the right choice going to Golden Boy.

Maybe as far as getting fights but the training part is all up to Zab Judah. At this point in Judah's career ,he's no more than a high level gate keeper in my eyes.

zab judah needs to retire that would be good he is to old now to be signing for anything.

Helps him stay in the mix and earn a good paycheck, likely for retirement.

It may help him earn another paycheck or two, but his career as we know it is pretty much over. He is well over the hill.
