What's up with MMA fighter calling out boxers?

Posted at: 2015-04-20
you called mma fighters not real athletes, some of these guys are division 1 wrestling champs, jiu jitsu world champions, and a few of the fighters have been to the olympics.

i can see you don't like mma, but to some people like myself, like watching an actual fight. if you were in a fight would just use boxing? no you would likely try to take the fight to the ground and use ground and pound and possibly a choke submission.

im with you saying mma fighters should stop calling out boxers but its not like boxers have never called out mma fighters

While I am a huge boxing fan and a lukewarm MMA fan, in the octagon, outside of heavyweights, the MMA fighter -should- be able to win the majority of the time. They train differently and for all styles which boxers don't. The reason why MMA fighters call out boxers is because boxers have a lot more prestige and fame. The average person on the street couldn't tell you who Anderson Silva is, or Royce Gracie, even though they are two of the greatest ever. Foreman, Sugar Ray Leonard, Tyson, De La Hoya, Mayweather, just to name a few would be known to virtually all. And of course, the greatest himself, Ali, is in a class above all athletes known to man.

lol it's an Inferiority complex

I'm a big fan of MMA, so to be fair the two sports aren't comparable. Boxing has been around for a long, long time. MMA isn't at it's peak yet, the fact that Bones Jones is basically one of the top two greatest fighters ever is some proof of that, considering he's only like 25.

If anyone wants to deny that then they can f*ck off, Bones is ATG status.

MMA is like the little brother to Boxing. They always need to be compared by people, which I hate. Why? It's fighting, yes, but they're two totally different sports.

You'll get MMA fighters calling out boxers from time to time. It's a bunch of things that are involved, they want to make headlines, they are serious (and crazy) in thnking they can compete, the money is surely more attractive.

It is what it is I guess, and will come w/ the territory. I think it's more retarded when MMA fans say that JDS has a chance against Wlad, as opposed to JDS thinking he'd win. Get real you morons.

It's annoying huh? Real problem is that most of the challenges come from guys who outweigh the other...

Anyway, they better stick to MMA, if you place an MMA fighter in a boxing match with a boxer, the boxer will win. Vice-Vers applies. This being said, the challenges are unbeliavebly stupid -_-

I like boxing more than MMA.

You forgot about Tyson Fury calling out Cain Velazquez. Cain is the champion at Heavyweight in the UFC.

That's a fight I'd love to see. Cain Velazquez would put Tyson's white az in a coffin.

It's more like than other way around I guarantee Cain Velasquez would kick any heavyweight boxers *** in the octagon. Just wait till he fights Tyson fury.

my opinion the UFC is more interesting to watch than boxing at this present time

Junior dos Santos said he would like to box Wladimir Klitschko. I think Klitschko would destroy Junior in the 1 or 2 round.

Chuck Liddel wanted some of Floyd Mayweather but never committed to it. I think Mayweather could drop Liddel like a bad habit. It's not the size of the man in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the man. Liddel would not make it 12 rounds he is not in that type of shape, Mayweather would dance circles around him.

Rampage wants to fight Roy Jones Jr. this year. Are you kidding me seriously I don't care how old Jones Jr. is he will beat the hell out of Rampage in the ring.

Anderson Silva the only MMA fighter that can bob and weave. MMA fans see him sway and it the biggest deal. In boxing you see that every fight. Silva wanted Jones Jr. also, well Jones Jr. will show Silva how to move if he gets in the ring, he will also show him the canvas pretty quick as well.

These MMA fighters need to shut their mouths because they are not true athletes they are just talentless idiots beating each other in a cage look at their legends and then look at boxings legends. What sport has achieved more? They have Fedor and Liddel, boxing has Ali and Tyson. In boxing you have to have technique while in the UFC you need to be able to last in a house for a month with a bunch of other guys and every day their is a cage match the last person left wins. In boxing you need to work your way up through the ranks sometimes it takes years. Would a boxer lose in the cage? maybe but I wouldn't count him out. Especially if it's a fighter like Mayweather he has so much athleticism I believe he would go their and no one would be able to stop him. Would a MMA fighter lose in a boxing ring 99% of the time yes they just don't have the athleticism or stamina too last. MMA fighters can not punch either I mean could you imagine how bad it would have been if a Prime Mike Tyson used 8oz. gloves in boxing he would have killed people. If an MMA fighter has to where boxing gloves he most likely won't be knocking out anybody. Their are no laying down breaks or cage humping in boxing a few hugs and the boxer is warned.

What do you think am I right? Whats your opinion on this?
