Worst example of corner negligence drawing a fight out longer than it should have been?

For me it's Robert Garcia in the Pacquiao-Margarito fight. Absolutely disgraceful. Also Jones Lebedev. What were they thinking?

In the McClellan fight against Benn the corner should have seen that there was something wrong with McClellan because being the type of fighter that he was quitting was not even even a thought never mind an option I felt the exact same way in my career the referee or my corner would have to stop a fight because my oponnent would have to kill me or knock me T.F.O. cold for the 10 count. Here is a good article from another professional boxer on the topic- http://www.champsboxing.com/johnscully/d...

Benny Paret-Emille Griffith---the corner should have thrown in the towel when the ref did not move to stop the fight when Benny was caught in the corner helpless.

Perez-Magomed Abdusalamov

Maragrito was not in any danger of being kayoed despite the volume of punches. Orbital bone injuries are common and can be repaired through surgery. What's worst is being hit in the head and the point of the jaw or chin that shakes the brain.

I think the real problem is that boxers are basically combat machines who try to soak up the pain and carry on to the bitter end, seeking that one lucky punch in the face of unbeatable odds that can turn a defeat into a win. If they don't have that attitude, that belief, they shouldn't get in the ring at all.

But that hope and sometimes desperation blinds them to the reality that the odds demand justice, and a boxer on the ropes is rarely going to come out unscathed.

That is when the officials and the boxer's team need to take those decisions.

I agree with Doc... It was blatantly obvious that there was something wrong with the G-man.

McClellan was supposed to rail road his way through Benn, he was on top of his game, a defeat would have been unthinkable in the McClellan corner.

The constant blinking was an indication that his vision was impaired (seeing double), the corner should have acted on this right away... Especially as Benn was landing clean shots to the head of McClellan... (Another indication that he was struggling to see the shots coming...)

Weather the G-man had an over powering influence on his corner, cannot be used as an excuse. The corner is directly responsible for their fighters health - They can detect any drop in performance, they should have known he was distressed (They probably did... but chose to gamble on a points decision, with dire results.)

i was going to say lebedev vs jones too... it has to be benn vs McClellan ,when watching it i could tell something was wrong with the G man 3 or 4 Rd's before it ended his corner men or the ref should of noticed something was wrong by his constant blinking

Jeff Lacy vs Joe Calzaghe. Lacy was getting destroyed and his corner should have pulled him out in the 11th. I remember His promoter Gary Shaw and Frank Warren screaming at Lacy's corner to pull him out but they didn't listen and Lacy never recovered from this defeat.

now that margaritos career was over, we all know how pac permanently sent him to retirement...

robert garcia couldve saved tonys eye if he threw in the towel in round 9 to stop the beatings
