I've watched Kovalev VS Hopkins 3 times and I think this is the most lopsided beating I ever saw in a title fight?

Kovalev would have knocked him out if he didn't respect him too much and turned the heat up early like he did in round 12. I think it was better that he schooled and humiliated B-Hop for 12 rounds than to ko him.

Yes and No

Kovalev beating Bhop was an understatement. The Krusher crushed the Alien. This could be the most lopsided fight in your eyes but you see Bhop at the end of the fight, walked away as if its just a regular sparring in the gym. His face wasnt deformed. No it hasnt replaced the beating Lacy had undergone at the hands of the Welshman. Calzaghe was no average Joe that night. It's still the number one with regards to that category.

I've watched Kovalev VS Hopkins 3 times and I think this is the most lopsided beating I ever saw in a title fight?

I reviewed the 12th round, oh man, you can never tell if after Bhop landed that vicious body blow that

Kovalev was playing palsy or not. Something tells me if Bhop landed that liver shot perfectly and the fight will be over. It was the same kind of shot that made Dela Hoya pound the canvass 4 times while grimacing in pain just to beat the count that he did not. Bhop's not yet done bro. and oh, the latest i've read he wanted to go down and fight also undefeated and knock out artist GGG as his farewell bout

Bernard Hopkins was completely dominated by Kovalev right from the first round and Hopkins didn't recover. Kovalev shown some promising skills. But credit to Hopkins who fought till the end.

For you, that is.

Given the type of a fighter that Hopkins has developed into late in his career, I can only think of Larry Holmes one-sided beating of Muhammad Ali as most lopsided as the decidedly younger, fresher and stronger Holmes virtually used just the left jab in damaging and stopping Ali who by then had nothing but his name and well deserved reputation as a giant killer.

The best ever Hopkins was that who dominated the middleweights in the 90s and the early 2000s.

But then, there's no way that lean and mean Hopkins could have competed at light heavyweights though at middleweights he beat by TKO a strong fighter who later on became a dreaded figure at 175 lbs. named Glen Johnson.

Kovalev is naturally a light heavyweight---a big imposing one at that---and there's no assuming how he would have fared at 160 lbs. against that prime version of Bhop.

So you saying that Kovalev would have "viciously kayoed" that prime time Hopkins is pushing it too far.

Come on man, you are giving Kovalev too much credit for beating a living and possibly leaving legend.

Hopkins got the beating for refusing to go down and out. He got the beating for fighting a bigger and dangerous fighter when he have and earned the right to pick his opponent. He got the beating because he over stayed his welcome in boxing giving us something to remember and talk about in the future. A legacy beyond compare. I personally doesn't like Bernard Hopkins the person but I loved Hopkins, the fighter. There were fights that showed even worse beating than Hopkin's fight but his was just magnified because of Hopkins, the person. I doubt if we can still have a fighter who can fight up to that age, maybe not in our lifetime.

Is he not better than the one who called himself TBE?

Why would you watch this fight 3 times? It wasn't even a good fight. It took me one time to know that Kovalev beat Hopkins fairly easily.

Kovalev was rocked twice by an old 50 yo man. Lmao At the end of the 12th, the 50 yo Hopkins was still solid strong, while kovalev was wobbly n loose n drunk woozy.

Well he did win every round. I don't think it was a beating because Hopkins had good defense.

Kovalev is one of a kind. Bernard Hopkins is a racist tool.

More lopsided than Larry Holmes vs cooney...?

Or Tyson vs Spinks....

ok sure LOL

If anything im surprised Kovalev couldnt ko a 50yo.

smh

Well of course some delude and possibly racist fans of Bernie will claim that a prime or young BHop would beat Kovalev but I don't see what a younger Hopkins could have done better. Kovalev is bigger, stronger and a better boxer than BHop ever was and truth be told a younger version of Bernie would get viciously KO'd because he would try to fight back at some point instead of being in survival mode for 12 rounds and that would leave him exposed for Kovalev's bombs.

I think this fight has now officially replaced Joe Calzaghe whooping Lacy's a@@ as the most lopsided beating in a boxing title fight.

Pacquiao Hatton was a worse beating but in terms of the manner of the victory, the way that Kovalev outboxed Hopkins, beat him at his own game and the way it was clear he could have taken him out at any time, this was a more complete victory. This was a god damn annihilation!

I saw Frazier pound Oscar Bonavena like a heavy bag non stop for 15 rounds, that was the most one sided fight that was not stopped, that I ever saw.

just move on...the old man was schooled for 12rnds... oki dokee?
