Boxing does not allow kicking.
It is a hands-only sport, feet are used to position you for using your hands effectively.
Karate is a martial art without any rules, and deals with protection.
They are just different things. Neither 'better' than the other.
Like a ford or a Chev. Some like one or the other, but history proves they are both of high quality.
are you actually taking about changing the rules of boxing?because alot of ppl answered like thats what you meant and i think you mean mixing them as a style not a sport. yea this pretty much kickboxing (whitch that and mma are on the same level as boxing) ive seen alot of ignorance today in this section and im starting to think alot of boxing fans are unrealistic and ignorant so yea there not open to any martial arts that arnt boxing and they actually think boxing is all you need for self defense and they think boxers can beat mma fighters and kickboxers on the street or in mma but there proven wrong over and over

Boxing is a pure sport based on a strict criteria..
I wouldn't pay to see grown men grappling around on the floor, and basically, that's what mma is.
No offence brother - But boxing should be left the way it is.
Boxing + kickboxing = UFC.
The sport will change because you are adding a new art.
BTW: Boxing is just punching your opponent.
Boxing is perfect as is. If you want kickboxing watch kickboxing. Hard core boxing fans are mostly purists and will hate this suggestion.
In boxing you have technique and defense this is all praised.
If you want more KO'S watch MAA or kickboxing.
